My Card, My Voice is about raising awareness by encouraging the wider community to notice the National Assistance Card, understand its meaning, and respond with patience and respect. It also invites more autistic people and people with brain injury to apply, giving them a simple tool that speaks for them when they can’t.

"Living with an invisible brain injury can be isolating. The National Assistance Card validated my experience and made my disability feel legitimate, not so invisible anymore. I'm optimistic, capable, and passionate and sometimes people forget I'm brain injured. The Card allowed me to reintroduce this reality to friends and family, helping them understand that sometimes life is challenging simply because I have a brain injury."

"Being a Black Autistic person adds extra layers of challenge when I am out in the community, accessing services, or travelling. With my accent, disability, and race, interactions are not always safe or understood. The National Assistance Card gives me something tangible I can show, which helps people understand my needs, support me appropriately, and treat me with dignity."
